  • What: Join Pride at Work/HAVOQ in calling on Kaiser to end discrimination against transgender people. When and Where: Saturday May 12th at 1pm at the San Francisco Kaiser Geary campus. Why: Kaiser says they care about providing medical care that takes care of the needsof the LGBTQ community. However Kaiser, like the majority of health care providers, continues to discriminate against transgender people, by specifically excluding medically necessary procedures from their healthcare plans.

Through the hard work of trans activists and their allies Kaiser now provides inclusive health care coverage for employees of the City of San Francisco, the City of Berkeley the UC system and some private companies including Google. We are calling for Kaiser to end discrimination against transgender patients in all of their health care plans and provide all medically necessary coverage as defined by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health.
