Trans Healthcare
Trans healthcare is a right! People who are transgender routinely need to spend tens of thousands of dollars for basic healthcare needs, even when they are covered by your healthcare plans. This happens because your company inserts “transgender exclusions” into your plans. We demand that your healthcare organization immediately remove all transgender exclusions in the plans you offer and cover the health needs of transgender people as prescribed by their doctor.*
*In accordance with the recommendations of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health.
San Francisco Pride at Work HAVOQ is currently campaigning to get health insurers to stop discriminating against trans people by removing transgender exclusions from the healthcare coverage they offer- including both coverage that employers purchase for their employees and individual plans.
