National Labor Relations Board vs. Hotel Frank

Hotel Frank Picket

Remember Frank Lembi and the greedy Lembi Family?  The ones that owned the now bankrupt CitiApartments and Skyline Realty?  Well, they also owned a hotel… until recently.  As the hotel was going into bankruptcy, the Lembis tried to squeeze everything they could out of the employees they left behind.  People thought the new owners could only get better, but they were wrong!

901 Market Street (at Fifth Street)
Fourth Floor – Suite 400

The trial begins at 9:00 AM.

Workers at the Hotel Frank have been under attack since Wells Fargo Bank foreclosed on the hotel in May, 2010. Wells Fargo brought in a new management company, Provenance, which refuses to recognize the Union contract, has not paid anything for medical coverage or pensions, has dangerously increased the workload for room cleaners and other workers, and has fired Union organizers. One of the fired workers is Marc Norton, a community activist who has worked as a bellman at the hotel for 12 years. UNITE HERE Local 2 has put Hotel Frank on its boycott list.

Wells Fargo sold the hotel to yet another financial speculator, AEW Capital Management, in December. AEW has kept Provenance on as its management company. The assault on workers rights at the hotel continues unabated.
