About CitiSTOP
The CitiSTOP coalition is a volunteer network of tenants, concerned citizens and advocacy organizations working together to defend tenants’ rights in Citi Apartments buildings. These groups currently include Pride at Work / HAVOQ, the San Francisco Tenants’ Union, St. Peters / Just Cause, the Housing Rights Committee, and Citi Apartments residents from neighborhoods across San Francisco.
The coalition first convened several years ago in response to numerous reports and legal complaints of tenants’ rights violations in buildings purchased by Citi Apartments and other aliases used by the Lembi family. Since then, we have collectively taken on the work of educating and organizing Citi Apartments tenants to protect our homes and right to live in San Francisco.
As a coalition, we believe that all San Franciscans should have access to quality, affordable housing. We condemn the corporate tactics of Citi Apartments, which include unlawful eviction, intimidation, bribery and failure to make necessary health and safety related repairs. We encourage you to join us in the fight to build grassroots power among the residents of this city, and to make Citi Apartments an accountable landlord.
