Campaigns

Pride at Work / HAVOQ works on many different projects and events, but has made an ongoing commitment to work on certain more long term projects we call campaigns. Each of these projects has a long term objective and over time we develop an evolving strategy and tactics to try to reach that goal. Currently our main campaigns are:

Trans Healthcare – a campaign to end “transgender exclusions” in health insurance policies and make sure members of our community can get the healthcare they need!

Undoing Borders- a document and speaking tour that explores the intersections of queer and Im/migrant experience and action.

Sanctuary City- a campaign to get San Francisco city government agencies not to target immigrants, deport undocumented youth without due process, or cooperate with ICE raids or deportations.

Trans-Inclusive ENDA- a campaign to pass federal legislation that who protect employees from being discriminated against on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Workers’ Rights OLSE – is grassroots educational campaign to inform workers about their rights under San Francisco labor law to the SF minimum wage, paid sick days, and healthcare and help them to enforce those rights.

CitiSTOP- a (completed) campaign that ended in 2010 to stop San Francisco’s largest landlord from evicting tenants, renting rents citywide and contributing to the gentrification of LGBTQ neighborhoods.
